Many visitors to the New South Wales south coast vote Narooma as the most popular tourist destination. Crayfish are also a regular catch and they represent one of the countries finest marine delicacies. Inland form Narooma, in the hinterland, is Mount Dromedary or Gulaga as it is known to the local Aborigines. This is a fantastic region for bushwalking with tall forests of eucalyptus trees and abundant wildlife. The South Coast of New South Wales enjoys a superb climate that compliments its beach side activities. The climate here is temperate and even in winter, many of the days are ideal for a visit to the beaches.
Narooma itself is a delightful town with an excellent shopping center, plenty of restaurants and some excellent holiday accommodation. Holiday homes and apartments are popular and there are several excellent motels. There are also a choice of licenced clubs and hotels which often provide live entertainment. Narooma is also famous for its cliff top golf course which provides fantastic views of the surrounding ocean and Montague Island. The 18 hole layout is known as one of the best in Australia.
